Antonio La Camera (1990), after graduating in Cinema and Visual Arts with a grade of 110 cum laude at the DAMS of Roma Tre University, attends directing and screenwriting courses at the “Sentieri Selvaggi” film school. He was later admitted to the High Specialization Course in Film Direction “Fare Cinema” directed by Maestro Marco Bellocchio and held by Manetti Bros.
His short films “Carne e Polvere,” “Il Sogno del Vecchio” and “Nel Ritrovo del Silenzio” have been screened in over 100 national and international festivals, including the Future Film Festival organized by the British Film Institute. He has won more than 30 awards worldwide, including the Best Director Award given to him by the Italian Cultural Institute in Budapest.
In 2022 he was admitted to the exclusive CreatorsLab in which he shot the Italian-Spanish short film “Las Memorias Perdidas de los Árboles” in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest under the supervision of legendary director Apichatpong Weerasethakul, winner of the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. The short film will have its world premiere at the 80th Venice International Film Festival as part of the 38th. International Critics’ Week.
