Antonio la Camera was born in Castrovillari (Cosenza) on May 18, 1990.
After graduating in Cinema and Visual Arts with a grade of 110 cum laude at Roma Tre University, he attended courses in directing and screenwriting at the “Sentieri Selvaggi” film school. Subsequently he was admitted to the High Specialization Course in Film Direction “Fare Cinema” directed by Marco Bellocchio and held by Manetti Bros.
His short films “Carne e Polvere”, “Il Sogno del Vecchio” and “Nel Ritrovo del Silenzio” have been screened in over 100 international and national festivals including “Future Film Festival” of the British Film Institute (UK), “Braunschweig Film Festival “(Germany),” Terre di Cinema – International Cinematographers Days “(Italy),“Ischia Film Festival” (Italy), “Fabriano Film Fest” (Italy), “Al-Nahj International Shortfilm Festival” (Iraq), “CinemAmbiente – Enrivomental Film Festival” (Italy), and was among the authors of the Italian short films that represented Italy at the “RIFF – Russia-Italia Film Festival” (Russia). It has won important awards such as the award for best director at the “Pázmány Film Festival”, awarded by the Italian Cultural Institute of Budapest, the award for the best international short film at the Turkish festival “Hak-İş Short Film Festival” and the award for the best music video at the festival organized by RAI “Tulipani di Seta Nera”.
He is the creator and artistic director of the “Castrovillari Film Festival – International Auteur Short Film Festival”, as well as the artistic director of the short film distribution company “Gargantua Film Distribution”.
